1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using WordForge at wordforge.games ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. WordForge reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via a notice on the Service at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
WordForge is a daily word-crafting puzzle game that provides users with letter-based challenges, scoring systems, leaderboards, social features, guild systems, tournaments, and community features. The Service includes a free tier and an optional premium subscription tier ("Pro") with enhanced features. The Service is accessible via web browser on desktop and mobile devices.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf. The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
4. User Accounts
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account through our OAuth authentication system. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information when creating your account
- Maintain and promptly update your account information
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to or use of your account
- Not share your account credentials with any third party
WordForge is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these account security obligations.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or any form of automation to interact with the Service
- Attempt to manipulate leaderboards, scores, streaks, or any game mechanics
- Exploit bugs, glitches, or vulnerabilities rather than reporting them
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation
- Harvest, scrape, or collect user information without explicit consent
- Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose
- Share offensive, abusive, harassing, threatening, or inappropriate content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Circumvent any access controls, rate limits, or security measures

6. Pro Subscription
WordForge offers a Pro subscription that provides access to enhanced features including Practice Mode, Forge Freezes, Advanced Statistics, and Unlimited Forge Duels. Subscriptions are available on a monthly ($4.99/month) or annual ($39.99/year) basis.
By subscribing to Pro, you authorize WordForge to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. All prices are in US Dollars and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.
Subscription prices may be updated with at least 30 days' written notice. Price changes will not affect your current billing cycle and will take effect at the start of your next renewal period.
7. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal (accessible from your account). Upon cancellation:
- You retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
- No further charges will be made to your payment method
- Your account will revert to the free tier at the end of the paid period
Refunds are handled in accordance with our Refund Policy. In general, we offer a full refund within 7 days of initial purchase if you have not substantially used Pro features.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, game mechanics, puzzles, word databases, scoring algorithms, visual assets, and branding of WordForge are the intellectual property of WordForge and its creators, protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit any part of the Service without express written permission from WordForge.
User-generated content (including display names, clan names, custom forges, and chat messages) remains the property of the respective user. However, by submitting content to the Service, you grant WordForge a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute such content within the Service and for promotional purposes.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services including Stripe (payment processing) and OAuth providers (authentication). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. WordForge is not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WORDFORGE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
We do not guarantee the accuracy of leaderboard data, scores, game statistics, or any user-generated content. Game mechanics, puzzles, and features may change without notice.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WORDFORGE AND ITS CREATORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.
In no event shall WordForge's total liability to you exceed the amount you have paid to WordForge in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WordForge and its creators, officers, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.
13. Termination
WordForge reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, suspected fraudulent activity, or for any other reason at our reasonable discretion. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of account actions, except where immediate action is required to protect the Service or other users.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. You may request export of your personal data prior to termination in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnification) shall survive.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund Policy, and Acceptable Use Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WordForge regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
