1. Overview
This Refund Policy applies to all paid subscriptions and purchases made through WordForge at wordforge.games ("the Service"). We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. If you are not, this policy explains your options.
2. Pro Subscription Plans
WordForge offers two Pro subscription plans:
- Monthly Plan: $4.99 per month, billed monthly
- Annual Plan: $39.99 per year, billed annually (equivalent to $3.33/month)
Both plans provide identical access to all Pro features: Practice Mode, Forge Freezes (3 per month), Advanced Statistics, and Unlimited Forge Duels.
3. Free Trial
WordForge does not currently offer a free trial for Pro. However, the free tier provides full access to the core daily puzzle, leaderboards, Word Vault, streaks, and limited Forge Duels (3 per month), allowing you to experience the game before deciding to upgrade.
4. Refund Eligibility
4.1 Full Refund (Within 7 Days)
You are eligible for a full refund of your most recent payment if:
- You request the refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase
- You have not substantially used Pro features during this period (defined as fewer than 3 practice sessions and no Forge Freezes consumed)
4.2 Prorated Refund (8-30 Days)
If you request a refund between 8 and 30 days after your initial purchase, we may offer a prorated refund at our discretion, based on the remaining unused portion of your billing period.
4.3 No Refund
Refunds are generally not available in the following cases:
- More than 30 days have passed since the charge
- The charge is a recurring renewal (not the initial purchase)
- You have substantially used Pro features during the billing period
- Your account was terminated for violation of our Terms of Service
4.4 Renewal Charges
For recurring renewal charges, we do not offer refunds. However, you can cancel your subscription at any time to prevent future charges. You will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period.
5. How to Cancel Your Subscription
You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time through either of these methods:
- In-App: Visit the Pro page and click "Manage Subscription" to access the Stripe Customer Portal
- Email: Contact us at [email protected] with your account email and request cancellation
Upon cancellation:
- No further charges will be made to your payment method
- You retain access to all Pro features until the end of your current billing period
- Your account will automatically revert to the free tier when the paid period ends
- Your game data, scores, achievements, and Word Vault are preserved regardless of subscription status
6. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please contact us at [email protected] with:
- Your account email address
- The date of the charge
- The reason for your refund request
We aim to process all refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds will be credited to your original payment method. Please allow 5-10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your financial institution.
7. Promotional Codes and Discounts
If you used a promotional code or discount for your subscription, the refund amount will be based on the actual amount charged, not the full retail price. Promotional codes are single-use and will not be reissued after a refund.
8. Billing Disputes
If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us at [email protected] before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We are committed to resolving billing issues quickly and fairly. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in account suspension.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Changes will not apply retroactively to purchases made before the update.
